Hockey Canada and the Dr. Tom Pashby Sports Safety Fund invite all
coaches, managers, trainers and parents to the Think First Concussion
Road Show on how to recognize and manage concussions including
discussion on return to play to be held at Scotiabank Place in Kanata
(Ottawa), Ontario Saturday November 3, 2007. It is also open to health
professionals including physicians, nurses, therapists, chiropractors,
dentists and players over 16-years of age.

A very special day in the history of minor in our branch is being planned as our new league, Ontario East-Est AAA Minor Hockey League officially opens the 2007-2008 regular schedule.
We have planned a day of games involving the minor bantams, major bantams and the minor midgets from each of our five member AAA associations.
This historic day is being billed as “ODMHA AAA Hockey Day” and all games are being played at the North Grenville Community Complex in Kemptville.

Slapshot Tobacco Industry Contest with the Ottawa 67s and Expose
The City of Ottawa Expose teams up with the Ottawa 67s to take a stand against the tobacco industry.
Grade 7 and Grade 8 students are encouraged to enter this contest where 30 players will win the opportunity to take part in a skills clinic with Ottawa 67s players and their assistant coach on Saturday, October 20th, 2007.

In addition to the above noted amount this year also saw the participation of individual teams making direct
donations to Roger’s House during this event. Our combined efforts over the past 4 years have resulted in
over $54,500.00 being raised!
We wish to thank all the coaches, participants and fans that made this year’s event such a success.
Thanks also to all our sponsors, the ODMHA and volunteers that helped us keep our costs down.
Hubert Seguin is awarded the Syl Apps - Special Achievement Award
On Thursday, April 26, 2007, the Sport Alliance of Ontario and the Ministry of Health Promotion had the privilege of honouring this past year's Ontario Sport Award recipients at the Granite Club in Toronto.
THE SYL APPS SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD is presented annually by the Province of Ontario to Ontario volunteers who have contributed to the development of sport in the province.
